DarkVision Hardware - IBM and NetApp form alliance against EMC

DarkVision Hardware - IBM and NetApp form alliance against EMC

If just one company tried do something to gain marketshare, and was successful, would that be a monopoly? E.G. Microsoft and Internet Explorer.

IBM is certainly a large company, and has a lot of financial and technical clout in many markets. NetApp is by no means a small company.

Does this alliance represent an oligopoly? Should it be viewed in the same way a single company doing the same thing might be viewed?
